Getting back to the Beginning

"Tillage Began in The Garden":
In the biblical account of the beginning of man, which is recorded in the book of Genesis, we see God’s creation and the life sustaining provision from Him. ‘ And God said, "See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which in on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food."’ (Gen 1:29 NKJV) Everything was perfect in God’s sight including man. "Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good." (Gen 1:31a) "This is the history of the heavens and the earth when they were created, in the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens, before any plant of the field was in the earth and before any herb of the field had grown. For the Lord God had not caused it to rain on the earth, and there was no man to till the ground." (Gen 2:4,5) Through evil and temptation, sin entered the world and man. God then pronounced judgment on man and said "Cursed is the ground for your sake; in toil you shall eat of it all the days of your life." (Gen 4:17c,d) Therefore the Lord God sent him out of the garden of Eden to till the ground from which he was taken." (Gen 4:23) Hence, man was now forced to work and till the ground in order to get food. But how was tilling to be performed? We, at Genesis Tillage, believe, as did Peter Bannan inventor of the Groundhog®, that tillage was to be performed by making a hole in the ground and fracturing the soil. The soil was not to be turned, plowed or disked but tilled. The Lord gives a rebuke to the people of Israel in the book of Isaiah Chapter 28 verses 24-26 when He says "Does the plowman keep plowing all day to sow? Does he keep turning his soil and breaking the clods? When he has leveled its surface, does he not sow the black cummin and scatter the cummin, plant the wheat in rows, the barley in the appointed place, and the spelt in its place? For He instructs him in right judgment, his God teaches him." That is why Genesis Tillage began: to get back to the original vision and design of tillage and aeration that God revealed to Peter Bannan. That design used an aerator to make holes in the ground, fracture the soil and give life back to the soil instead of robbing the life out of it. The Psalmist said, "The earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness, the world and those who dwell therein." (Ps 24:1) Let us care for the ground in the same manner as God would have us do.
